This is a very easy basic swiss roll cake recipe anyone can make at home , cherry/strawberry jam swiss roll cake recipe Swiss roll, jelly roll, roll cake, cream roll, roulade or Swisslog is a type of rolled sponge cake filled with whipped cream, jam, or icing. in spite of the name "Swiss roll", the cake is believed to have originated elsewhere in Central Europe, possibly Austria. Any how these are my favorite. This is easy to make and can surprise your guests with the tender, moist,spongy and sweet taste.

Directions
Preheat an oven @170C
Separate 5 eggs into two separate bowls.
In the bowl with the egg yolks add the Vanilla Essence, 1/4 cup Sugar, salt and beat with an electric beater.
Start beating the egg whites while beating Add the 1/3 cup Sugar, Add 3 to 4 additions.
Beat until stiff peaks are formed, and add the egg yolk mixture.
Fold it gently, Using a sieve add the All purpose flour, baking powder and fold the dry ingredients gently with the wet ingredients.
Transfer to a lined baking tray and bake in the oven for 20 to 25 minutes
Once done let it cook down, when cooled refrigerate for an hour.
When done spread Jam roll it to a log.
